World Food Day - October 16,2021. Kefalonia Fisheries offer 250 kg of fish to the social services of the Municipalities of Kefalonia
World Food Day is celebrated every year around the world on October 16, since 1979, in honor of the date of the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in 1945.
The aim of the day is to understand that the foods we choose, the way we consume them, and the way they are produced affect our health as well as the health of the planet, while also the realization that not everyone has access to healthy eating.
A balanced diet has the potential to significantly enhance the health and development of people. Fish, as a rich source of polyunsaturated omega 3 fatty acids (EPA, DHA), has been shown to help maintain normal heart function, blood pressure, and normal levels of triglycerides and LDL cholesterol in the blood.
The future of nutrition is in our hands, as consumers, and as producers, and with a sense of responsibility, we at Kefalonia Fisheries faithfully follow all standards of sustainable production.
Let's celebrate World Food Day together making the right choices in our diet and always standing by the side of those who need us.
